As part of its ongoing effort to provide a healthy and sustainable university environment, Mosul University continues to implement its major environmental initiative “Ghiras Al-Rahma” which was launched and sponsored by Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University. The initiative aims to expand the green belt within the campus, serving as an environmental shield against pollution, while also providing beauty to the surroundings and promoting human health.

On Monday, October 20, 2025, a new phase of the “Ghiras Al-Rahma” initiative was launched, organized by the Media and Government Communications Department at the University of Mosul, with the participation of the faculty and students of the College of Nursing. A group of trees was planted in new areas within the campus, representing a practical embodiment of the convergence of the media message and environmental awareness with the concept of healthcare and social responsibility.

The University administration confirmed that the “Ghiras Al-Rahma” initiative is one of the pillars of its strategy towards environmental sustainability. It emphasized that the initiative aims to transform the university into a vibrant green oasis that contributes to community service and strengthens the values of volunteer work and humanitarian giving.
