On Thursday, October 23, 2025, the Central Library at Mosul University launched a green tree-planting campaign as part of the “Ghiras Al-Rahma” initiative, which was introduced by the university president, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi. This initiative aims to support the university’s environment and enhance green and aesthetic spaces across the campus.

The campaign was carried out in collaboration between the Diwan Affairs Department (Agricultural Division) and the Media and Government Communications Department. It involved planting several saplings and trees around the Central Library and its entrances, with the participation of university staff and a number of students.

This initiative is part of a series of activities that embody Mosul University’s commitment to promoting a culture of volunteerism and environmental awareness. It highlights the university’s dedication to creating a healthy and sustainable campus environment that reflects the spirit of belonging and giving, in line with the university’s vision for a green campus that showcases the values of beauty and environmental responsibility.
