Activating the Voluntary “Ghiras Al-Rahma” Initiative: College of Pharmacy Plants Hope for a Greener University

In line with the “Ghiras Al-Rahma” initiative launched by Mosul University, and under the supervision of the Agricultural Unit in the Administrative Affairs Department, in collaboration with the Media and Government Communications Department, the College of Pharmacy organized an extensive tree-planting campaign within the university campus, led by Professor Dr. Yasser Fakhri Mustafa, Dean of the College.
The activities included a workshop on the importance of tree planting and its role in protecting the environment, alongside awareness campaigns and scientific posters that highlighted the benefits of greenery and its positive impact on public health and environmental quality of life.
The campaign also featured a large-scale field activity, planting a variety of trees and ornamental plants in the college’s gardens and lawns, reflecting a strong sense of environmental responsibility and commitment to sustainable development principles.
This initiative is part of Mosul University’s efforts to establish the concept of a green university, promote collective and voluntary work values in service to the environment and the university community, and affirm its mission to cultivate aware and responsible individuals who are committed to their natural surroundings.
