Within Its Educational Role, Mosul University Holds a Scientific Conference to Promote Electoral Awareness

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the direct supervision of Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, the university organized a specialized scientific conference titled “Receiving the Biometric Voter Card and Participation in Election Day,” in cooperation with the Ninawa Elections Office.
The conference officially opened with the Iraqi National Anthem, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in memory of Iraq’s martyrs, and verses from the Holy Qur’an. The event was attended by Mr. Farhan Al-Maamari, Director of the Ninawa Elections Office, and Assistant Professor Dr. Basil Khalaf, Head of the Academics Syndicate – Ninawa Branch.
In his speech, the President of Mosul University highlighted the strategic and productive partnership between the university and the Ninawa Elections Office. He emphasized the key educational and awareness-raising role of academic institutions in supporting the democratic process, affirming that elections represent both a national duty and a fundamental pillar for state-building. He also expressed his gratitude for the efforts made by the Elections Office.
Mr. Farhan Al-Maamari delivered a speech urging all citizens to assume their national responsibility and actively participate in the upcoming elections.
To enhance practical understanding, a technical team presented a comprehensive video demonstration followed by a live simulation of the voting process, allowing participants to gain full insight into the technical and procedural steps necessary for smooth and accurate participation.
This conference reflects Mosul University’s commitment to its social and educational role in supporting national responsibilities and promoting civic awareness among its faculty, staff, and the local community.
