A Ministerial Committee Visits the University of Mosul to Discuss the Establishment of a Master’s Program in Intelligent Technologies.

 

On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, welcomed a ministerial committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, led by Dr. Mohammed Aboud Taher, to discuss the establishment of a Master’s Program in Intelligent Technologies within the Department of Research, Operations, and Intelligent Technologies at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics.

This visit is part of the Ministry’s procedures for evaluating universities’ readiness to introduce advanced academic programs, aiming to support the Ministry’s initiatives to develop modern specializations in artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the academic and technical capabilities of the college. Professor Dr. Duha Basheer Abdullah, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, presented a detailed report that included the proposed curriculum, qualified teaching staff, available infrastructure, and research labs, as well as the college’s plans to ensure the academic quality of the new program.

At the conclusion of the visit, the ministerial committee praised Mosul University’s efforts and its high level of preparedness to meet the requirements for launching the program. They commended the university’s significant steps in expanding graduate studies and adopting advanced research programs that align with global scientific developments. The committee also affirmed that this specialization would be a strategic addition to the academic system in Iraq, contributing to the preparation of skilled national experts in artificial intelligence, intelligent technologies, and operations analysis.
