College of Business and Economics Continues the Initiative of “Ghiras Al-Rahma” Toward a Green University Environment

In line with Mosul University’s vision to enhance the principles of sustainable development and achieve a green, eco-friendly campus, and as part of the “Ghiras Al-Rahma” initiative launched by the university presidency, the College of Business and Economics carried out the first phase of a tree-planting campaign in the college gardens on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. The campaign was supervised by Professor Dr. Sinan Zuhair Mohammed Jameel, Dean of the College, and monitored by the Agricultural Unit in the Administrative Affairs Department and the Media and Government Communications Department at the university presidency.
The campaign saw active participation from the Dean, his academic and administrative assistants, faculty members, staff, and students. A variety of perennial trees and plants were planted as part of a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate the green spaces within the college. Additionally, an automated irrigation system equipped with cameras was installed to ensure the ongoing care and sustainability of the greenery.
This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action), which aims to tackle the challenges of climate change and increase vegetation cover, thereby enhancing the university environment and embodying the values of volunteerism and collective cooperation among the staff and students of the college.
