Medical Graduates Take the Oath at Mosul University During the Professional Medical Ethics Course

 

In a solemn and symbolic scene that reflects the noble meanings of human and professional responsibility, medical graduates from the universities of Mosul and Nineveh for the academic year 2024–2025 took the medical oath during the Professional Medical Ethics Course held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the university’s grand theater. The event was organized in collaboration between Mosul University and the Iraqi Medical Association – Nineveh Branch.

The course witnessed wide official and academic attendance, led by Dr. Muzahim Al-Khayat, Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, Dr. Osama Al-Mashhadani, President of Nineveh University, Dr. Mohammad Suleiman Al-Houri, Head of the Nineveh Medical Association, along with Dr. Ashraf Abdul-Razzaq, representing Nineveh Health Directorate, and a number of deans, faculty members, doctors, and graduate students.

The event began with official speeches that emphasized the importance of medical professionals adhering to ethical practices and human conduct, and the necessity to continuously develop their scientific and practical abilities in a way that enhances their role in safeguarding public health and improving medical services. The speeches also highlighted the need for doctors to serve as models of dedication and discipline in their work, in line with the humanitarian principles that the profession upholds.

The event concluded with the graduates taking the medical oath, surrounded by an atmosphere filled with pride and honor, symbolizing the beginning of a new phase in their professional lives, grounded in knowledge, humanity, and community service.

It is worth noting that the course is part of Mosul University’s vision to strengthen the connection between the academic institution and the professional community, supporting a culture of responsible medical conduct, which reinforces the values of quality and commitment in the healthcare sector and achieves the sustainable development goals in Iraq.
