Guardians of the Law Begin Their Professional Journey from Mosul University…The New Batch Joins the Iraqi Bar Association

The Grand Theatre at Mosul University hosted, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, a solemn ceremony for the oath-taking of new applicants joining the Iraqi Bar Association – Nineveh Branch. The event embodied the honor and noble mission of the legal profession in upholding the rule of law and achieving justice.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the national anthem and a reading of Surat Al-Fatiha in remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq. This was followed by the formal taking of the legal oath by the new lawyers, marking their official entry into the professional and judicial field and the start of their journey in serving justice and society.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Judge Raed Hamid Muslih, President of the Nineveh Court of Appeal; Legal Expert Abdulqader Al-Dakheel, Governor of Nineveh; Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University; Lawyer Ali Abdulmohsen, Secretary of the Bar Association; and Lawyer Saleh Ali Al-Jubouri, Head of the Nineveh Lawyers’ Deputation Committee, in addition to several members of the Bar Association and faculty from the College of Law.
In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the moral and legal responsibility borne by lawyers in protecting rights and upholding justice. The President of the Nineveh Court of Appeal stressed that the legal profession is an essential partner in the justice system, calling on the new graduates to adhere to professional and ethical values. The Governor of Nineveh expressed the local administration’s appreciation for the lawyer’s role in reinforcing the principles of law and institutions, confirming full support for young legal professionals in their practice.
For his part, the President of Mosul University welcomed the distinguished guests, noting that hosting this ceremony reflects the university’s societal role in promoting a culture of law and contributing to building a state of justice and institutions. He extended his best wishes to the new lawyers for a professional journey filled with dedication, success, and service to Iraq.
