On Monday, November 24, 2025, the Central Committee for Scientific Promotions at the Presidency of Mosul University held an expanded meeting chaired by Professor Dr. Akram Mahmoud Hussein, Head of the Committee, with the attendance of the heads of the subcommittees in the university’s colleges.

The meeting discussed the latest Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research guidelines regarding the mechanisms for scientific promotions, particularly the use of the electronic system for processing promotion transactions. Additionally, recent ministerial directives received through an electronic meeting with the Ministry’s Scientific Undersecretary were reviewed. These directives focused on defining the plagiarism percentage associated with the use of artificial intelligence and the regulations governing its application.

The meeting also included a session for addressing several inquiries raised by the heads of subcommittees. Detailed answers were provided to ensure clarity of procedures and to expedite transactions with high accuracy, while safeguarding the rights of faculty members and contributing to enhancing the scientific path of the university.

This meeting is part of a series of sessions aimed at unifying the work between the central and subcommittees and ensuring high levels of coordination in implementing the promotion regulations, supporting the ongoing academic development at Mosul University.
