On Sunday, November 23, 2025, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of Mosul University, chaired the fifth session of the University Council, with the presence of all council members.

The session covered a number of key topics, with the most prominent being the academic promotions file, the establishment of graduate studies in certain specializations, the introduction of evening studies in several departments, and the creation of new research centers to support the university’s academic and research directions. The council also discussed the academic structure of the colleges and departments, the update of graduate studies curricula, and the integration of modern knowledge technologies to align with global scientific developments.

The session emphasized the importance of organizing specialized conferences and seminars and their role in enhancing the university’s scientific standing. It also focused on monitoring and ensuring the quality of the Bologna process and implementing its requirements, as well as discussing the procedures related to the re-admission of students whose enrollment has been canceled, according to the rules and regulations.

Additionally, the session addressed several other agenda items related to the progress of the educational, research, and administrative processes, aiming to enhance the academic environment and achieve the goals of Mosul University in advancing higher education and serving the community.
