University of Mosul Conducts a Field Exercise to Enhance Readiness in Firefighting

As part of its ongoing safety and prevention programs aimed at protecting its staff and facilities, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Civil Defense Unit at the university presidency, organized a field firefighting exercise on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Nebras Younis Al-Murad.
The exercise included a practical demonstration of the key instructions and procedures to follow in the event of a fire, along with clarifying rapid rescue mechanisms and the necessary measures taken by civil defense teams and individuals to avoid serious consequences. Participants received hands-on training in using the latest firefighting equipment and techniques to contain and prevent the spread of flames.
The activity aimed to raise the level of preparedness among those involved in firefighting and rescue operations, and to enhance community awareness of the importance of fire prevention. It comes as part of the university’s ongoing training programs designed to equip its teams with the skills needed to respond efficiently and swiftly to potential emergencies.
