University of Mosul Explores Women’s Rights and Key Challenges in a Scientific Workshop

In support of women and in recognition of their rights and the major challenges they face, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Mosul organized a workshop on Sunday, October 30, 2025, titled “Women’s Rights: Challenges and Opportunities in the Contemporary Society.” The event was held in collaboration with the Human Rights Unit in the college, the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency, and the Women’s Affairs Committee, and in coordination with the Continuing Education Unit.
The workshop presented an in-depth analysis of the development of women’s rights in modern times, with a focus on current challenges and the opportunities available to strengthen women’s roles and empower them across various fields. It also highlighted the vital role of academic institutions in supporting women’s access to their rights and enhancing their active participation in society.
The event aimed to promote awareness of women’s rights, clarify their legal and human rights frameworks, and provide a scientific examination of the obstacles hindering women’s advancement—while offering practical solutions and realistic pathways to enable women to fulfill their role and contribute to building a balanced society founded on partnership and sustainable development.
