University of Mosul Promotes Humanitarian Values During Human Rights Week and International Volunteer Day

Affirming its humanitarian mission and societal role, and as part of the activities marking Human Rights Week and the International Volunteer Day, the Veterinary Giving Team from the College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency, carried out a humanitarian field campaign that included visits to several underprivileged families, as well as cancer and kidney failure patients, in addition to a group of orphaned children. During these visits, the team distributed food baskets, clothing for children aged 6 to 15, as well as financial assistance allocated to support patients and meet their medical and living needs.
The activity was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and supervised by Professor Dr. Abdulrahim Ibrahim, the Scientific Assistant to the President, and Professor Dr. Sivan Saad, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. The distribution efforts were overseen by Dr. Saeed Khudida Al-Sanjari, Head of the Human Rights Division at the University Presidency, and Dr. Solaf Jabar, Head of the Human Rights Unit at the college, with the participation of a group of faculty members and students from the College of Veterinary Medicine who demonstrated exemplary humanitarian commitment.
This initiative reflects the University of Mosul’s ongoing vision to uphold the values of solidarity and social responsibility, and to promote a culture of volunteerism and community service as an essential component of its academic and humanitarian mission.
