Mosul University Organizes a Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Human Rights

The Central Library at the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit and the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit at the University, organized a scientific seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on Human Rights” on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The seminar was attended by a group of researchers and those interested in technology and human rights. This seminar is part of the university’s initiative to enhance awareness of digital transformations and the ethical and legal implications they bring.
The seminar addressed the most significant global changes associated with the increasing use of artificial intelligence technologies, and the challenges they pose regarding individual privacy, data security, and ensuring the protection of fundamental rights. It also highlighted the dangers of uncontrolled use of these technologies. Furthermore, the seminar emphasized the role of academic institutions in promoting digital responsibility awareness and supporting pathways that balance technological innovation with the safeguarding of human rights.
