The President of the University of Mosul Attends the Victory Day Celebration in Mosul

The President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, attended the Victory Day celebration held on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Mosul. The event, which commemorates the victory over ISIS terrorist groups and the liberation of Iraqi cities, was sponsored by Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, the leader of the Victory Coalition and former Prime Minister, and was attended by several members of the University Council, security leaders, religious figures, and community personalities.
The celebration began with the national anthem, followed by speeches emphasizing pride and honor for the tremendous sacrifices made by Iraqis to restore their cities and establish security and stability. The President of the University of Mosul delivered a speech highlighting the importance of national unity, enhancing stability, and building a secure future for the coming generations. He reflected on the devastation faced by the city of Mosul and its university, and how they have risen again through efforts in reconstruction and rebuilding, driven by a deep love for the homeland and the preservation of its dignity.
The event included the distribution of honorary gifts to attendees in recognition of their efforts in contributing to the reconstruction of Mosul, affirming that Victory Day represents a national milestone to renew the commitment to continue the path of construction and progress in various fields, for a brighter future and a better tomorrow for Iraq and its people.
