The College of Dentistry at the University of Mosul, in collaboration with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit, organized a workshop titled “Sustainability of Afforestation and Its Preservation” on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, as part of the university’s efforts to promote environmental sustainability concepts and raise awareness about the importance of vegetation cover within the university campus and the local community.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of afforestation and its role in promoting a healthy and sustainable environment and improving quality of life. It also discussed modern scientific methods for preserving vegetation cover and ensuring its sustainability, as well as the positive environmental and health impacts of afforestation. The workshop emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable practices that help mitigate climate change and its effects, and foster partnerships between academic institutions, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to good health and well-being, reducing inequalities, climate action, and partnerships to achieve these goals.
