The College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering at the University of Mosul organized a specialized training course titled “Structural Settlement Analysis Due to Reservoir Pressure,” on Sunday, December 21, 2025. The course was held in collaboration with experts in geotechnical and petroleum fields, targeting engineers, researchers, and postgraduate students. The aim was to enhance their skills in dealing with field challenges related to this area.

The course focused on analyzing the phenomenon of soil settlement resulting from fluid extraction from reservoirs and explaining mechanisms to protect structures from its effects using modern scientific models. This initiative reflects the University of Mosul’s commitment to linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, and its ongoing efforts to develop engineering staff in line with labor market requirements and to provide effective solutions to technical problems.
