University of Mosul Continues Blood Donation Campaigns in Support of Thalassemia Patients

Reflecting its continuous commitment to organizing humanitarian and community activities, the University of Mosul has continued its efforts to support blood donation campaigns for thalassemia patients. The College of Islamic Sciences, in collaboration with the University Counseling Unit, the Regional Studies Center, and the Blood Bank, organized a voluntary blood donation initiative under the slogan “A Drop of Your Blood… Saves Another,” on Thursday, December 18, 2025, supervised by Dean Dr. Taha Hamad Makhlef.
The campaign saw wide participation from faculty members, staff, and students of the college in a humanitarian initiative aimed at enhancing social solidarity and spreading the culture of blood donation, which plays a vital role in saving lives, especially for thalassemia patients who constantly require blood transfusions. This initiative embodies the university’s mission to support various sectors, particularly the health sector, and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 5 (Gender Equality), Goal 15 (Life on Land), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), emphasizing that voluntary work is a fundamental pillar in building a cohesive and compassionate society.
