The Department of Scientific Affairs at the Presidency of the University of Mosul held a scientific workshop on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, entitled “Enhancing Research Efficiency in the Humanities through Artificial Intelligence Technologies,” with the participation of a number of researchers and postgraduate students. The workshop was organized within the university’s strategic orientation toward developing scientific research and keeping pace with modern technological advancements.

The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of artificial intelligence tools and their role in supporting scientific research in the humanities, highlighting the most prominent tools compatible with the nature of research in these fields. It also explained mechanisms for employing these tools across different stages of the research process, such as idea generation, content organization, improving academic writing, and linguistic editing.

In addition, the workshop shed light on the benefits of these technologies in saving time and effort and enhancing the quality of scientific output, while emphasizing the ethical controls and academic standards governing the use of artificial intelligence to ensure integrity, transparency, and intellectual honesty. These efforts form part of the University of Mosul’s ongoing steps to improve the quality of education and scientific research and to keep pace with global scientific developments in employing modern technologies in the service of progress and advancement.
