The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, in collaboration with the Unit of Sustainable Development at the University of Mosul, organized a scientific workshop titled “Key Amendments in Basketball Rules” on Monday, December 22, 2025.

The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the latest updates and amendments approved by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), with a focus on new refereeing aspects, procedures related to technical fouls, shot clock regulations, and out-of-bounds situations. It also covered the practical implementation of these changes in match management and training programs.

This workshop aligns with global developments in the rules of the game and aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty members, coaches, and students. It equips them with accurate legal knowledge, contributing to the improvement of basketball skills both within the university and beyond. This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 4 (Quality Education) by providing specialized, high-quality education that ensures the acquisition of professional skills, and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting sports practice based on sound legal and technical foundations.
