University of Mosul Explores the Role of Psychological Counseling in Combating Terrorism

The College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit and the University Psychological Counseling Department at the University Presidency, organized a scientific and guidance seminar entitled “The Role of Psychological Counseling in Combating Terrorism” on Monday, December 22, 2025. The seminar was held as part of the university’s programs aimed at enhancing intellectual and psychological awareness within the university community.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of psychological counseling in preventing extremist ideologies, developing students’ psychological and intellectual awareness, and strengthening critical thinking skills. It also focused on building balanced personalities capable of confronting behavioral and intellectual challenges, thereby contributing to the reinforcement of intellectual security, the promotion of societal stability, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of quality education.
