As part of the “University of Mosul Sustainability Ambassadors” initiative, launched by the university president Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the College of Engineering, in collaboration with the university presidency’s Department of Studies and Planning and the Sustainable Development Unit, carried out an environmental voluntary initiative in conjunction with the International Volunteer Day, under the slogan “Drop of Knowledge… Saves Lives.”

The initiative aimed to leverage engineering expertise to test and analyze drinking water in several primary schools across both sides of the city. The focus was on identifying potential issues in water storage, filtration, and pumping systems. Engineering solutions were provided to improve water quality and ensure its safety, aligning with sustainable development goals related to health, clean water, and sustainable cities.
