The Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at the University Presidency held a workshop on research fellowships and scientific sabbaticals on Monday, October 7, 2024, in the hall of the College of Nursing. The workshop was attended by the assistant deans for scientific affairs, heads of the scholarship and cultural relations units in colleges and research centers, and many faculty members from University of Mosul and universities in Nineveh Province.

The workshop session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Ruaa Butros Boulos, Director of the Department of Scholarships at the University Presidency. The lecturers included Assistant Professor Dr. Ziyad Mukram Youssef, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Assistant Lecturer Omar Ali Khudair, Head of the European Union Projects Unit, as well as Mrs. Hind Sheet Hussein from the Overseas Students Division.

The workshop introduced the mechanism for registering for the research fellowship and scientific sabbatical system launched by the Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It also clarified the auditing and approval procedures by assistant deans for scientific affairs and the presidency of University of Mosul, leading to the submission of applications to the ministry for candidacy for the research fellowship, which can last either six months or a year. Many questions raised by the attendees were also addressed.
