“Practical Skills for Dentists after Graduation” – A Series of Workshops and Lectures Organized by the Career Development and Alumni Follow-up Unit at the College of Dentistry

The Career Development and Alumni Follow-up Unit at the College of Dentistry organized, on Wednesday and Thursday, September 17–18, 2025, and within the framework of the cooperation program with the Nineveh Branch of the Iraqi Dental Association, a workshop for dentists who graduated in the academic year 2024–2025. The workshop aimed to enhance the practical skills of dentists after graduation, focusing in this session on two key areas: the application of the rubber dam and dental photography.

The lectures were delivered by Lecturer. Dr. Zakaria Fares Al-Haj Ahmed from the Department of Conservative Dentistry, and Specialist Dentist Bassam Talal Al-Louayzi, representing the Nineveh Branch of the Iraqi Dental Association. The sessions included practical demonstrations on typodont models and volunteers, attended by 80 graduates along with a number of faculty members and teaching assistants from various academic departments.

These workshops and lectures are held as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Education, specifically under the pillar of developing specialized skills.
