College of Dentistry

Excellence in scientific research is one of the principal aims and objectives of the College of Dentistry/ University of Mosul. This is well stated and documented in the college vision, mission and goals statement.
The College of Dentistry / University of Mosul has an annual research plan into which the direction and pathways of the research is determined. This plan is discussed and detailed by the scientific committee at each department and then the college scientific committee organize the final plan and present it to the college council for approval.
The scientific committee in each of its six departments and the main college scientific committee are responsible for all research activities in the college.
The scientific committee in each department takes responsibility of the approval and follow up of all research project in that department according to a strict guideline provided by the university presidency. The procedure includes filling forms and providing a written research proposal before presenting it in a meeting attended by the scientific committee members and fellow researchers.
