A panel discussion at the Environmental Research Center on employing the hidden Markov model in distinguishing the coding genes of proteins.
A panel discussion at the Environmental Research Center on employing the hidden Markov model in distinguishing the coding genes of proteins. Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, President of Mosul University, and under the supervision of Dr. Saba Khair Al-Din Al-Taie, Director of the Environmental Research Center, the Center held a seminar on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, entitled “Employment of the hidden Markov model in distinguishing the encoding genes of proteins” delivered by assistant lecturer Ms Sura Muhammad Jamal Al-Din Al-Alawi , a staff member at the Environmental Research Center. The lecture aims to employ the hidden Markov model in studying and analyzing bio-informative data in distinguishing 13 genes responsible for encrypting the proteins of the respiratory chain in the mitochondria and determining the type of nitrogen base replaced by the MT-ND5 gene for humans and mice, where it was concluded that the hidden Markov model was a strong approach to determine the proportion of congruence that reaches high classification accuracy and total Low error boxes.
