The role of the University of Mosul/Environmental Research Center in spreading environmental awareness, scientific treatment of educational curricula.

Within the cooperation mechanism signed between the Engineering Society for Development and Environment and the Environmental Research Center, the joint delegation of the Society and the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul met with the Climate Change Directorate in the Ministry of Environment on Monday, February 19, 2024 to discuss the draft environmental curriculum for primary studies, which was prepared by the Engineering Society for Development and Environment and Reviewed and revised by the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul. The meeting was attended by the Director of Climate Change and the Ministry’s consultant in the field of curricula, in addition to a number of department heads in the Ministry of Environment. The head of the organization reviewed the details of the curriculum and the topics that were addressed for all primary school levels and were discussed in detail. And answer some of the questions raised during the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the directorate welcomed the content of the curriculum in general and praised the quality of the information provided and the method of presentation that was appropriate for students’ understanding in the primary stage. A recommendation was made to submit the draft curriculum to the committee formed headed by the Prime Minister’s Advisor for the purpose of taking an opinion on its adoption after comparison with other proposals.
