The Environmental Research Center Continues its Training Program for Students from the College of Environmental Sciences and Technologies

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul continues its scientific lectures as part of the summer training program for students from the College of Environmental Sciences and Technologies on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

The two lectures were delivered by Professor Musab Abdul Jabbar and Dr. Raghad Hashim.

The first lecture, titled “Sustainable Development Goals,” addressed the 17 goals adopted by the United Nations as part of the 2030 Agenda, highlighting their connection to environmental, social, and economic issues within a local and academic context. The lecture aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the importance of community contribution to achieving these goals for a more sustainable future.

The second lecture, titled “The Possibility of Transitioning from Traditional Universities to Green Universities,” focused on the importance of transitioning to environmentally friendly educational institutions by adopting sustainable practices in infrastructure and integrating sustainability concepts into curricula and scientific research. The role of universities in promoting environmental awareness among students and the community was also emphasized, serving as a model for supporting sustainable development efforts.
