The Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul holds a workshop on geodiversity and its impact on the environment

Under the patronage of Professor Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision and follow-up of Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Khair Al-Din Ibrahim, Director of the Center, the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul organized a workshop entitled “Geodiversity and its Impact on the Environment” on Monday, October 6, 2025. The workshop, in cooperation with the Center for Remote Sensing and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University Presidency, coincided with the celebration of International Biodiversity Day.
The workshop included three scientific lectures. The first addressed the topic of “The Concept of Geodiversity” and was presented by Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdul Qader Al-Sanjari from Shatt Al-Arab Private University. The second lecture, entitled “Geodiversity and its Impact on the Environment,” was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ezz Al-Din Saleh Hassan from the College of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. The workshop concluded with the third lecture, entitled “Geodiversity: A Pillar of Sustainable Development,” by Dr. Akram Mohammed Saleh from the Center for Remote Sensing.
