Faculty from the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul Participate in the Nineveh Water Forum

Faculty members from the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul participated in the Nineveh Water Forum (Second Season), organized by the Solidarity Organization in cooperation with the Tigris River Protectors Association and the Northern Technical University. The two-day event was held on Sunday, November 12, 2025.
The participation included three scientific lectures addressing important environmental and water topics. Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Khair al-Din Ibrahim (Director of the Center) presented a lecture titled “Water Security: One of the Fundamental Pillars of Food and Energy Security.”
Dr. Riyad Mahmoud Saleh also delivered a lecture titled “Negative Environmental Activities of Foreign Companies Operating in Iraq – The Oil Industry as an Example.”
Professor Musab Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Baqi delivered a lecture titled “Water Harvesting as a Strategy to Combat Drought in Nineveh Governorate.”
This participation is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), affirming the role of the University of Mosul and the Environmental Research Center in supporting national efforts towards water resource management and environmental
