The Chemical Safety and Security Committee at the University of Mosul Conducts an Inspection Visit to the Environmental Research Center

As part of the periodic monitoring of the implementation of chemical safety and security standards in scientific institutions, the Chemical Safety and Security Committee at the University of Mosul conducted an inspection visit to the laboratories of the Environmental Research Center on Sunday, November 30, 2025. They were received by Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Khair Al-Din Ibrahim, the center’s director.

The visit included a field tour of the laboratories, during which the committee reviewed the progress of research and technical work. Laboratory officials provided a detailed explanation of the operation of modern equipment and methods for conducting environmental analyses, as well as the procedures followed in organizing chemical materials. The procedures for ensuring the quality of results and adherence to the established scientific record system were also reviewed.

The committee also reviewed the application of safety and security requirements within the laboratories, including the use of personal protective equipment, the availability of fire extinguishing and alarm systems, and the adoption of sound methods for storing, handling, and disposing of hazardous materials in accordance with university regulations and national standards.

The committee offered a number of technical observations aimed at enhancing the laboratory work environment and raising the level of safety standards, while also expressing its appreciation for the efforts made by the center’s administration and staff in advancing research.

At the conclusion of the visit, the committee affirmed the continuation of cooperation among the university’s various departments to contribute to a safe and supportive scientific environment for research and development.
