Two faculty members from the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul participated in a training course in Nineveh Governorate.

Dr. Sahar Adnan Sheet and Dr. Raghad Hashim Al-Mallah, both faculty members at the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul, participated as lecturers in a training course organized by the Guidance and Training Center in Nineveh Governorate. The course, titled “Agricultural and Food Culture: A Preventive Approach to Enhancing Food Security and Sustainable Development,” ran from December 14-28, 2025.
This participation was part of strengthening the principle of partnership and cooperation between governmental and academic institutions, contributing to the dissemination of agricultural and food awareness and supporting national efforts aimed at achieving food security and sustainable development.
The course’s themes are in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, namely: Goal 1 (No Poverty), Goal 2 (Zero Hunger), Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and Goal 13 (Climate Action), given their active role in supporting food security, improving health and education levels, promoting sustainable economic growth, as well as protecting the environment and addressing climate change.
