The Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul holds a seminar on the treatment of drinking water plants

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Environmental Research Center at the University of Mosul held a seminar titled “Types of Physical and Chemical Treatment Processes Used in Drinking Water Plants.” This seminar is part of its scientific activities aimed at raising environmental awareness and supporting sustainable development goals.

The lecture was delivered by Professor Musab Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Baqi.

The lecture addressed the physical and chemical methods used in drinking water treatment, which are essential to ensuring water quality and suitability for human consumption.

The lecture focused on the traditional processes used in water treatment plants in Mosul and their importance in providing water suitable for drinking and various domestic uses for the city’s residents.

It emphasized the important role of treatment technologies in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), by ensuring the provision of safe and clean water that contributes to enhancing public health and supporting environmental and social stability.
