The department was established in 1997 with the establishment of the center. The department aims to develop research plans to formulate the center’s research policies and work to document scientific research on various environmental topics.
Among his future plans is to establish an environmental information bank that will be a scientific reference for researchers at the university and governorate levels by collecting environmental research and classifying it to be accessible to researchers. This department supervises field studies and laboratory analyzes of environmental resources with the aim of facilitating procedures to control pollution problems and documenting available environmental information.
