The Secretary-General of the Library of the University of Al-Hamdaniyah Visits the Central Library to Activate Plans of Joint Cooperation between the Two Libraries
Under the directives of Prof. Dr. Kossay Al-Ahmady, President, University of Mosul, that joint cooperation with all Iraqi universities, particularly with the universities of Nineveh Governorate, should be activated, Dr. Kawkab Salim Mohammed, Secretary-General of the Central Library, University of Al-Hamdaniyah, visited the Central Library of the University of Mosul on Thursday, October 24, 2019. She was received by Mr. Sayf Al-Ashqar, Secretary-General of the Libraries, University of Mosul, who accompanied her on an introductory tour of both the Central Library and its affiliated Ibn Khaldun Library located in the second university campus, and briefed her on the plans for developing and promoting the two university libraries with the University President’s continuous and unlimited support. He discussed with her the prospects of joint cooperation between the two libraries in the interest of students and researchers in both universities. The tour was also to meet an invitation to the French-Iraqi Cultural Institute in Mosul to attend a lecture held by the institute in cooperation between the University of Al-Hamdaniyah and the Unit of Oriental Studies of the University of Mosul. In addition to that, the two Secretary-Generals were interviewed by Al-Mosuliya TV Channel. After that, a video titled (the Library Identity) was displayed for the guests. At the end of the visit, Dr. Kawkab expressed her thanks and appreciation to the General Secretariat of the Libraries of the University of Mosul for the good reception and provision of all forms of support to ensure the activation and permanence of the foundations of cooperation between the two libraries. Finally, she expressed her great admiration of the achievements of the Central Library and its branches despite the terrible destruction and this shows the spirit of determination and persistence of the library administration and staff to keep the library as a lighthouse of knowledge and knowledge that shines not only on the university and the City of Mosul, but on all the Iraqi universities and cities as well.
