Completion of the Central Library’s Fourth Virtual Training Course on (Index and Indexing)
Under the auspices of the University President, Prof. Dr. Kossay Kamaluddin Al-Ahmady and the supervision and presence of the Secretary-General of the University Libraries, Mr. Sayf Mohammed Dhiya Al-Ashqar, a three-day virtual training course on (Index and Indexing) was organized by the Continuing Education Division at the Central Library on Google Meet Platform from 15th to 17th of March, 2021, and delivered by Asst. Lect. Rawaa Salahuddin and Ms. Rafal Khaled, with the electronic and administrative assistance by Dr. Ghada Abdulkarim and Asst. Lect. Zina Tarek. On the first day, definition, purposes, procedures, importance and process of indexing were discussed. As for the second day, indexing systems, which includes indexing words in context, texts, concepts and reference citations were discussed, in addition to the tools, standards, work guides and languages of indexing. The course ended on the third day with an exam for the course attendees who were provided with participation and examination passing certificates.
