Virtual meeting with the President of the British Council in Iraq

In line with the directives of the presidency of the University of Mosul’s efforts to promote the digital transformation and supporting scientific research, a virtual meeting was held between the Director of the University’s Libraries,
Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, the President of the British Council in Iraq, and the technical team of the British Council’s Digital Library. During the meeting, they discussed mechanisms for implementing free access to digital library resources for students and researchers at the University of Mosul, which contributed to expanding access to sober global knowledge resources.
The British Council’s digital library includes thousands of e-books, academic journals, research and interactive educational materials, in addition to specialized resources in teaching the English language, academic training, professions and skills development, as well as supportive content for teachers, researchers and postgraduate students. A smart and easy access mechanism will be adopted for the users by providing a quick response code (QR Code) inside the sections of the Central Library, where students and researchers, once the code is cleared , they will be able to directly enter the digital library and benefit from its resources without complexity, in a step that reflects the trend towards simplifying library services and facilitating access to digital knowledge.
This initiative represents a qualitative leap in university library services and contributes to linking the University of Mosul with global resources. It also promotes opportunities for students and researchers to access the latest scientific publications and references, in a way that keeps pace with the requirements of quality and academic accreditation. So, we attain the fourth goal: good education Goals, and the seventeenth goal: establishing partnerships to achieve Sustainable Development
