Under the auspices of the Honorable President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Ibrahimi, an introductory workshop was organized about the publishing house and the international database JSTOR and the mechanisms for benefiting from its scientific and research sources, in order to enhancing the skills of researchers, lecturers and students in accessing solid academic sources and benefiting from them in various fields of scientific research.
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, the Director of the University Libraries, during which he discussed the JSTOR platform and its importance as one of the most prominent digital bases that includes thousands of scientific periodicals, books, and peer-reviewed sources in various specializations, in addition to explaining the steps for registration, search, and retrieval, and methods for downloading available sources.
It is worth mentioning that the University of Mosul has been able to make JSTOR resources available to its researchers for a period of five years, in
an important step to support the research and academic environment and provides global scientific resources that contribute to developing the
university’s scientific output and raising the level of scientific research there.
The workshop was attended by researchers, lecturers and interested parties who praised this qualitative initiative and its importance in serving
the scientific process at the university. Thus, the workshop attained the fourth goal: good education, the ninth goal: industry, innovation and infrastructure, and the seventeenth goal: establishing partnerships to achieve the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals.
