Training course entitled “Fundamentals of English for Library Staff”

As part of the Presidency’s relentless efforts of the Mosul University to develop the administrative and technical staff and raising their effectiveness to keep pace with the requirements of modern university work, and as part of the activities of the Continuing Education Division of the General Directorate of the Central Library, a training course entitled “Fundamentals of English for Library Staff” was organized from June 9-10, 2026, with the participation of a number of members of the Central Library and branch libraries in the university’s colleges and centers. Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, the Director of Mosul University Libraries delivered the lectures during which the course covered the basics of the English language related to the library work environment, especially the vocabulary and expressions used in offering the library services, connecting with users, and dealing with modern electronic systems and applications. The course aims to develop the linguistic and professional skills of librarians in a way that contributes to promoting the quality of the
library services and supporting development and digital transformation efforts, and is also consistent with the sustainable development goals, especially the fourth goal (Good education) by boosting opportunities for continuous learning and the eighth goal (Decent work and growth of the economy) by developing’ skills of the and raising their professional efficiency.
