Under the  auspices of the Honorable President of the Mosul University, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Director of the Mosul University Libraries, the Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Mohammed Jassim, the Continuing Education Division at the Central Library, in cooperation with the Sustainable Development Unit, Department of Studies and Planning at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, organized a scientific workshop in the Central Library entitled: (Green energy is the ideal solution to reduce global warming and support sustainable development).

The workshop was addressed by the lecturer Dr. Hamed Abduallah Saleh, while it was conducted and presented by Assistant lecturer Halla Abdul Monem Mohamed the workshop, It was also attended by a number of university members and those interested in environmental, energy and sustainable development issues .

The workshop discussed the concept of green energy and renewable energy sources and their importance in confronting environmental challenges Climate and its role in reducing carbon emissions and the impacts resulting from the use of traditional energy sources, as well as the importance of transforming towards more sustainable patterns of energy production and consumption.

The workshop aimed to enhance the awareness of the importance of green energy and its role in reducing global warming, encouraging the use of clean and renewable energy sources, and consolidating a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility in a way that supports achieving sustainable development goals.

This workshop comes as part of the University of Mosul’s efforts to promote scientific and awareness-raising activities related to the environment, energy, and sustainability.

It has contributed to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals: ( the seventh goal: (clean and affordable energy) , ninth goal (industry, innovation, and infrastructure), and the thirteenth goal (climate action).
