As directed by the University of Mosul regarding holding courses and workshops to raise scientific awareness amongst its members, and under the supervision and presence of the Secretary General of the University of Mosul Libraries, the Division of Continuing Education at the Central Library organized a five-day course themed “Catalog Automation of Arab Manuscripts Using RDA Rules and MARC 21 Format via Koha Portal” on 12-16 January 2025. The course was delivered by two Central Library librarians: Lect. Rawa Salahuddin and Asst. Lect. Shatha Ahmed, giving a comprehensive explanation of catalog automation of Arab manuscripts according to the rules of the Resource Description and Access (RDA) and the Machine-Readable Cataloging 21 format (MARC 21), using the open source, full featured library management system (Koha), The course achieves the fourth goal: quality education, the eleventh goal: sustainable cities and communities of the Sustainable Development Goals.
