Secretary General of Mosul University Libraries participates in an advanced training course at the British Library in London

As part of the University of Mosul’s endeavour to develop its libraries and boost the efficiencies of its staff, Dr. Muhammad Jassim Muhammad, Secretary-General of the University’s Libraries, participated in a training program held at the British Library in the British capital, London, from July 8 to 17, 2025, with support from the University of London’s Nahrain Network (UCL).
The program included important axes related to the digitization of cultural heritage, digital preservation techniques, collection management, and the use of artificial intelligence in libraries, as well as scientific visits to a number of libraries in the United Kingdom.
This participation considers an extension of previous cooperation efforts between the University of Mosul and the British Library, as this visit represents the third phase after similar exercises in 2019 and 2022. During the event, the importance of continuing international cooperation to develop the
digital infrastructure of the university’s libraries and enhance their position in global academic forums was emphasized.
This representation reflects the University of Mosul’s presence in international professional forums and affirms its commitment to adopting the latest standards and technologies in knowledge management and serving researchers and students.
