Central Library

The Central Library of the Mosul University received the President of the University, Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi accompanied by, a delegation from UNESCO headed by Mr. Tony Kar Hong Tam, Head of Education at the organization, The visit also at tented by Professor Dr. Abdul Raeeim Ibrahim Jassim, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, and Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, director of the Mosul University Libraries.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the library’s technical achievements, particularly the digital preservation systems, archiving, and electronic borrowing. They discussed with the library team future for developing the digital infrastructure and expanding services offered to researchers and students.
UNESCO representatives reaffirmed their commitment to providing continuous support and facilities to enhance the library’s ability to regain its leading role locally and regionally, they also highlighted upcoming cooperation projects, including the preparation for a joint book fair. The ongoing plans aim to expand access to scientific resources and improve user experience of the users through the advanced digital systems and services
