Under the auspices of the President of the University of Mosul, the Honorable Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Mohammed Jassim Mohammed, and within the Restoration of the Central Library Project implemented by UNESCO in cooperation with the staff of the Holy Abbasid Shrine and the Computer Center at the University of Mosul, the special digital repository of the General Directorate of Mosul University Libraries was launched in a strategic step to support the digital transformation and enhancing the knowledge and scientific product availability to the researchers and postgraduate students.
The digital repository includes an important collection of the University of Mosul’s scientific products, including theses and dissertations completed in the university’s
different faculties, in addition to researchs of the university researchers, patents, chapters of scientific books, and scientific lectures. This contributes to preserving the scientific product and facilitating possible access to it according to the international academic standards.
A specialized staff has been trained to work on uploading the scientific products of the University of Mosul to the digital repository to be available to researchers and users, ensuring possible access and organization in accordance with the approved scientific controls and standards.
The launch of this repository is part of the University of Mosul’s vision to support researchers and preserving scientific memory by boosting free access to scientific resources and strengthening the university’s scientific presence locally and internationally.
