Participation of the Editor-in-Chief of Mosul Studies Journal in a Training Workshop on the Scientific Journal Management System

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abdul Rahim Ibrahim, Assistant President for Academic Affairs, the Computer Center organized an initial specialized workshop on Monday, July 21, 2025, on the Open Journal System (OJS) for managing scientific journals. The workshop was held in the Multilingual Properties Laboratory (Korean). Prof. Dr. Maysoun Thanoon Al-Abayji, Editor-in-Chief of Mosul Studies Journal, participated in this advanced workshop, which focused on providing a detailed explanation of the system used to manage the university’s scientific journals, while reviewing the special software features designed by the Computer Center to align with the academic and visual identity of the University of Mosul. It also addressed mechanisms for facilitating the use of the platform by editors-in-chief and directors of scientific journals, overcoming the technical and administrative challenges they face, and highlighting the specificities of each journal based on its scientific specialization. The workshop was presented by Mr. Diaa Saif Al-Islam. Comprehensive, it discussed the most prominent practical challenges facing editorial boards. Its work was followed by Dr. Omar Al-Zaidi, Director of the Center, who emphasized the importance of keeping pace with digital scientific publishing and enhancing the administrative efficiency of the university’s journals.
