Faculty Members from the Mosul Studies Center Attend the Grand University Theater Festival

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the supervision of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and based on the keenness of the Mosul Studies Center administration, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, the Center’s Director, to implement the directives and circulars issued by the University of Mosul Presidency, a group of professors from the Mosul Studies Center attended part of the activities of the first (opening) day of the University Theater Festival (for male and female students of Iraqi universities), which began on Monday, December 8, 2025. The festival is organized by the Student Activities Department of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority and is being hosted by the University of Mosul until December 11, with wide participation from public and private universities. The opening ceremony was held under the supervision and in the presence of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, with prominent official participation led by the Ministry representative, Mr. Haider Mohammed Jabbar, members of the ministerial committee, members of the University of Mosul Council, and representatives of the participating Iraqi universities. The activities included the screening of a documentary film depicting the University of Mosul’s journey in Rising from the ashes of destruction to the realms of reconstruction and giving, the event featured musical performances that added a festive atmosphere, followed by a series of theatrical presentations by university students before a specialized judging panel.
