The Mosul Studies Center Organizes a Scientific Workshop for Students of the English Department at the College of Basic Education

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, Director of the Mosul Studies Center, and in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit/Presidency of the University of Mosul, and as part of the Center’s efforts to conduct external scientific activities and enhance joint work with the departments and colleges of the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Arouba Jameel Mahmoud, a faculty member at the Mosul Studies Center, presented a scientific workshop entitled:

(The Importance of Environmental Conservation for Students)

This workshop was presented to fourth-year students in the English Department at the College of Basic Education on December 7, 2025.

The scientific workshop highlighted a number of points, the most important of which are:
1. Enhancing Environmental Awareness: which helps students understand the importance of preserving the environment and the effects of pollution on health.

2. Developing Positive Behavior: by encouraging students to adopt positive behaviors such as recycling and reducing water and energy consumption.

3. Protecting Natural Resources: By teaching students how to use natural resources sustainably.

4. Improving Health: By focusing on a clean environment, which contributes to improving students’ overall health.

5. Promoting Community Engagement: By encouraging students to participate in environmental and community activities.

6. Developing Critical Thinking Skills: By helping students develop critical thinking skills and solve environmental problems.

7. Building a Better Future: By contributing to building a generation that is aware of and prepared to contribute to environmental protection.
