Mosul Studies Center Receives Recognition from the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities honored the University of Mosul, through its Mosul Studies Center, one of its most important research centers, by sending a letter of thanks and appreciation from His Excellency the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, Professor Dr. Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, to the center, represented by Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Nizar Al-Dabbagh, the center’s director, along with the center’s teaching staff, including Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Ahmed Al-Obaidi, Professor Dr. Maha Saeed Hamid, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hanan Abdul-Khaliq Al-Sabawi. This recognition was for their participation with academic research in the Eighth Scientific Conference entitled “The Civilizational Role of Baghdad Throughout History,” held by the Ministry through the General Authority for Antiquities and Heritage/Department of Archaeological Studies, Research, and Training. The conference coincided with the selection of Baghdad as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2025, and took place on October 27, 2025. The research presented reflected the cultural diversity that characterized Baghdad in the fields of history, architecture, antiquities, arts, heritage, and geography throughout its historical periods.
