It is a great achievement that the University of Mosul took steps towards establishing the Peacebuilding and Peaceful Coexistence Center (P.P.C.C) which, enhancing Its goals, the university is in the service of society. The center is based on a comprehensive vision towards understanding ,analyzing the factors and causes of conflicts. Then providing solutions and proposals that contribute to building sustainable peace in Iraq. The center’s means vary between theoretical and field studies, opinion surveys, and position questionnaires. As well as, the development and building of capacities that diagnose reality, provide solutions, and enhance opportunities for strengthening. In addition, the center draws on the accumulated experiences of its staff and the diverse experiences of the university, but it does not stop there, but rather opens up to society through fruitful and effective partnerships that bring viewpoints closer and invest energies to create positive peace through circles of interaction and integration that take into account cultural, social, and religious diversity, explore needs, understand situations, and take interests into account. The Center seeks to achieve its mission of building peace by building bridges of cooperation and understanding with all local and international actors. It does not underestimate any effort, does not confiscate an opinion, and does not leave any field without having a presence in it. It benefits from the past in order to create the present, and look to a safe future in which the human being, his rights, and his dignity are protected, as well as, all means are prepared to achieve true peaceful coexistence in which the bonds of citizenship, acceptance of the other, and integration with him/her are strengthened in order to build sustainable peace.
