Department of Peace and Coexistence Capacity Building Division
The Peace and Peaceful Coexistence Capacity Building Department is dedicated to strengthening the skills and knowledge of individuals and institutions in the fields of peacebuilding and social cohesion. Through training programs, dialogue sessions, and community initiatives, the department works to promote a culture of peace, mutual respect, and non-violence while countering all forms of extremism at every level of society.
Its outreach extends to the Center’s staff, University of Mosul faculty and employees, government institutions, civil society organizations, activists, and community members from all walks of life.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Promoting Peacebuilding Awareness
o Organizing lectures, conferences, seminars, scientific meetings, study groups, and training courses at the national, regional, and international levels.
o Participating actively in local and global events related to peacebuilding and coexistence.
2. Implementing Community Peace Projects
o Designing and executing initiatives that spread the culture of community peace and counter extremism in all its forms.
o Expanding scientific cooperation with national, Arab, and international institutions aligned with the Center’s mission.
3. Capacity Building for Center Staff
o Providing specialized training to improve performance, technical skills, and professional expertise within the Center.
4. Supporting University Development
o Enhancing the capabilities of University of Mosul students and employees to strengthen both academic outcomes and administrative efficiency.
5. Raising Public Awareness
o Fostering social harmony by deepening shared values, rejecting violence, hate speech, and division, and reinforcing bonds of unity among all segments of society.
This department serves as a vital driver of the Center’s mission—empowering individuals and institutions to protect community peace, embrace diversity, and build a foundation for lasting coexistence.
